On April 13 and 14, the Human Rights Foundation (HRF) hosted COVIDCon, a virtual conference focused on how tyranny sparked and is exploiting the coronavirus pandemic to crack down on civil liberties. Over 6,000 people attended, far beyond what the Human Rights Foundation had expected.

Buena helped concept the event, concept the visuals, create the design, film, and website.

Event speakers included Ai Weiwei, Chinese dissident artist, Garry Kasparov, Russian democracy advocate and chess world champion, Anne Applebaum, American Pulitzer Prize-winning author, historian, and journalist.
