Women will control trillions in US wealth by 2030, and still defer the decisions. Invest for Better wants millions of women to step into their financial power, and asked us how.

Green slide quoting the World Economic Forum: more than 100 years to equality, with stats on women in the C-suite, among investors and in venture funding, beside the Wall Street bull

Invest for Better is a nonprofit that helps women put their money to work for what they care about. This month it came to Buena with a big goal: move millions of women to step into their financial power. The numbers behind that goal are well known. Our job is to make people feel them.

A gap everyone has already scrolled past

The World Economic Forum says that at today’s pace, women won’t be equal in the economy for more than 100 years. The details are just as stubborn.

The gap, as the brief describes it

  • 1 in 4C-suite seats held by womenWomen’s share of top executive jobs.
  • 28%of investors are womenWomen’s share of people who invest.
  • 2%of venture capital goes to female foundersThe share of VC money that reaches companies founded by women.
  • $34Tin US wealth women will control by 2030Wealth in the US that women are expected to control by 2030.

Women are set to control more than $34 trillion in American wealth, and too often they hand the decisions about it to someone else, in a financial industry built by men, for men. Statistics like these have been published for years. They are easy to agree with, and easy to scroll past.

Three facts and a coalition

Invest for Better doesn’t come alone. The brief begins with a coalition of about 100 women-and-money organizations, and three facts to build on.

  • The investing gap

It is three times the size of the pay gap.

  • Women invest with impact

When women make the decisions, more of their money goes to what they care about.

  • Only 50 years

That is how long an American woman has been able to open a credit account without a man.

The challenge is not to inform. It is to inspire millions of women, and men, to embrace the facts and push equality forward.

What came next

Instead of repeating the stats, we asked what they cost. We trained an AI on thousands of data points about women’s economic impact, sent it back 100 years, made women equal overnight and let it show us the history we missed. Teachers earn more than lawyers. The 2008 financial crisis never happened. We called that world the Sheconomy.

A city split between today and a green, thriving alternate version, under the line “Go back 100 years. Make women equal. Re-do history.”

Go back 100 years. Make women equal. Re-do history.

It soft-launched in November 2025 with a coalition of 74 organizations (the launch), went public as Our Sheconomy in March 2026, and ran as a 14-week challenge that reached a combined 12 million people by Invest for Better’s count (the results). The whole case is in Sheconomy.

The facts haven’t changed. What changes is whether people feel them.
