No partnership, no pitch. Just a campaign interesting enough for a whole segment. Viewed over 16 million times.

We woke up the morning of August 13 to find out our campaign was featured on John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight. Without any special partnership or arrangement, the efforts of what Flash Drives for Freedom is doing was interesting enough to inspire John Oliver and his team to dedicate a whole show to it, and its unique and effective approach disassembling the Kim Jong-un regime. Oliver aired segments of an interview Frontline did with Yeonmi Park, the campaign spokesperson, and Kang Chol-Hwan, the man running the campaign’s efforts in South Korea. So far, the segment has been viewed on broadcast and Youtube over 16 million times.
